COMPUTER SERVICE:
Computers generate a lot of heat and thus have cooling fans to draw air across
the components, however this also draws in dust. Dust build up on the
components will reduce their capacity to dissipate heat, which will in time
cause the computer to fail through overheating. Therefore an occasional
cleaning of the computer fans, and components is recommended. Service includes:
Dust extraction, De-frag of hard drive, Virus Scan. Wikipedia:

PROCESSOR / MOTHERBOARD
FAILURE: Although quite uncommon Processors (CPU) & Motherboards can
fail, and although a replacement can sometimes be found the cost of replacement
may make the process uneconomical. In these cases a new PC is generally the
best option. Your old hard drive (or contents of) can be easily transferred to
your new PC so you do not have to worry about losing your files. Your software
can be easily re-installed as long as you have the original installation disks.

VIRUS REMOVAL / SCANNING: If your PC is running slowly
or performing erratic functions then it may be infected with a "virus" etc.
Whereas viruses were previously just malicious, more often than not they have
more sinister functions these days. Often recording your computer usage,
passwords and account numbers etc. Sometimes turning your computer into a tool
to attack other computers. Therefore it is vital that you keep your computer
free of viruses. Don't be fooled into thinking that as you have anti virus
software that your PC is clear, they are not infallible! Wikipedia:

HARD DRIVE UPGRADES: If your computer is running out of
disk space then the addition of a second hard drive is a relatively simple
process. Wikipedia:

MEMORY UPGRADES: If your Computer is running slowly then
often the addition of more memory can give it a new lease of life. Assuming
there is facility to do so then the addition of extra memory is a fairly simple
process. Wikipedia:

DATA RETRIEVAL: If your Hard
Drive has failed then sometimes the data contained within can be retrieved, but
this really depends on the failure severity. If the data is retrievable then it
can be copied onto your new hard drive or computer. Wikipedia:
